Research Tips
  • Start your research general to specific
  • Databases are guaranteed authentic research information (Gale, EBSCOhost)
  • Many database articles will already have the citation for you at the bottom of the page. Other times, there are citation tools at the top or side of the article.
  • Use quotation marks (called a boolean search) around a search phrase to be sure the search includes ALL words
    • A search for African American Women will bring up articles on Africans, Americans,  Women, and various combinations of those words.  "African American Women" will be sure that all results include those three words in that exact order.
