What can I expect the librarian to do?
- Help you find sources to cite
Have a great topic but can’t find the sources to back it up? We can help with that - Help you develop your great ideas
We can give you feedback on how to grow your ideas and offer insight on how to make your argument stronger. - Help make your writing clear and accessible
You know what you want to say, but maybe you’re having trouble finding the right way to say it. Our librarians will help you identify where your ideas need clarity and help you find the right language to make them understandable and meaningful.
Will a librarian proofread and edit my paper?
- The librarians will identify errors and give you guidance on how to make corrections. They will not fix the errors for you. Since part of learning how to proofread well is learning how to spot your own errors, you should expect librarians to leave some for you to identify on your own.
How do I submit my work to the writing lab?
- From Google Docs, click the share button and type in LMC or Secondary Library.
- Make sure “Notify People” is checked.
- Make sure you make the LMC an "editor."
- In the message box, explain what kind of help you are looking for. It is also very helpful for us if you share the assignment so we know whether or not you are meeting the requirements.
- Make sure “Notify People” is checked.
- Please give us 2 school days to get back to you. Sometimes it will be much quicker, but we will probably not be able to help you with last-minute submissions.
